Wade held this poem close to his heart! He had memorized it in its' entirety and loved all that it stands for. It has become a part of his legacy and continues to touch many people's lives. The board below was made by Cara as a gift for Wade on Father's Day 2015, 1 month before his death.
Jennifer Linders and Donna Goar, both co-workers with Wade, made an amazing and large collage of multiple images of Wade. This collage speaks of the man he was and the things he loved to do. It hangs in the Shipman home and is looked at each and every day!
Wades aunt and uncle, Olive and Larry Milledge, took the picture from Wade's funeral service and had it professionally painted for Shanne and Cara. It was painted by Svetlana Van Wyk. It now takes high honors on the Shipman family wall!
In October, 2015, the MSU School of Anesthesia dedicated a beautiful paver for their new building in Wade's memory. What a special tribute and gift!
A Mercy co-worker, Ruth Norton, began a Facebook group entitled, Dr. Shipman's Living Legacy. Nearly 300 individuals have joined and keep up with this daily devotional. What a gift and inspiration!
Memories of Wade will forever be in Shanne and Cara's hearts. These stones were written on and signed with love at Wade's visitation. They now reside at home and are looked at often.
Co-workers from Mercy Hospital put together a beautiful hard bound book in Wade's memory. There are pages and pages of loving memoirs written by those who loved him! It was given to Cara and Shanne as a most memorable and touching gift.
