On the first anniversary of Wade's passing, a dear friend, Carla Smith, wrote this in Wade's memory. It is a true treasure to Shanne and Cara.
Wade loved to bird hunt in the state of Kansas and liked their state flower, the sunflower. It has become a symbol of his legacy to many individuals. Mercy Hospitals sold personalized packets of sunflower seeds this June. All proceeds were added to the Dr. Wade Shipman Memorial Fund. What a great idea by Phyllis Hayter and Kimberly Peterie!
Mercy Hospitals in Springfield, Missouri prepared and dedicated these beautiful legacy stones in Wade's memory. One hangs in each of the four Mercy Springfield facilities. Wade was always clear in how he felt about his family and friends. He would regularly say, "Have I Told You Today......that I love you"? "Have I told you today......what a great job you are doing!"
Wade was affectionately called "Shippy". He was known for always bringing his large grocery sack lunch to work. It was filled with all things "healthy".
Mercy Orthopedic Hospital had a large bake sale at their facility just before Easter. They raised over $1300! What a gift to his Memorial Fund!
This was left on Wade's grave. So touching to Cara and Shanne
This bench is located in the Allison Garden at Wade's church, King's Way United Methodist.
